Watson and Grint Sign for Final Harry Potter Movies
Contrary to earlier reports, “Harry Potter” stars Emma Watson and Rupert Grint have made their decisions to reprise their repective roles of “Hermione Granger” and “Ronald Weasley” in the final films of the Harry Potter series, Warner Bros. confirmed on Friday. As previously announced, Daniel Radcliffe has also officially signed contracts to return as the boy wizard Harry in the sixth and seventh installments as well.
“I could never let Hermione go — she is my hero!,” Watson cooed in a statement from the Warner Bros. film studio. “I love her too much and love what playing her has meant to me.”
Recent news reports hinted that Watson may not return to the role of Hermione Granger. Clearly, her absence would have been quite a disappointment to the millions of fans who have fallen in love with the adventurous movies based on the best-selling novels by British author J.K. Rowling. Fans, along with Warner studios are reportedly elated by the news confirmation that all 3 actors will see to their roles through the end of the series.
The release of three more film installments of the series: “The Chamber of Secrets”, “Prizoner Of Azkaban”, and ”The Goblet of Fire”, have added nearly $2.6 billion to the worldwide box office, allowing the franchise to, thus far, gross over $3.5 billion.
The fifth film in the series, entitled, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” is scheduled for release on July 13.
